Every so often I stumble upon something that just irritates the hell out of me and so I have to investigate it until I uncover the less than interesting truth. 

I suppose that makes me in the same league as those birthers who thought President Obama's birth certificate was a fake... except my vendetta is against certain articles in the field of graphic design. 

Since 2007 I began looking all over for an explanation as to why a series of fruit billboards began sprouting up in Savannah, Georgia (strawberry, grapes, orange, and an undiscovered fourth one).  See if you drove past this just once on the side of the highway you really wouldn't think much of it.  But when you have to pass this ridiculous billboard over and over again (like SOUTH OF THE BORDER... someday I'll HAVE to go there) you kind of have to ask yourself..... Who paid money for this piece of garbage and what exactly is this giant fruit billboard advertising anyway?  The consumption of fruit?  There really isn't text beneath it to support this theory.   

I brought in my friend Patrick Bonsu he tried calling phone numbers, talking to various graphic designers in the area, but to no avail. 

Four years later I finally found their phone number and called up their main office in Savannah.  It just turned out to be fillers. 

A local artist was responsible for designing the billboard.  When I asked for the artist's name they wouldn't give it out.  Apparently it's a right of privacy?  Shortly after my phone call those fruit billboards disappeared. 

They were replaced with flowers. 

Back in 2006 I collaborated with fellow SCAD students on a trailer for the then unreleased "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince."  I played the British Prime Minister in the trailer.  If you can't guess from the trailer, I had a great deal of fun on this project.

At the beginning of May I volunteered my time to act in a short commercial for PARK PLACE OUTREACH, an organization geared towards helping runaways.

I"m pleased with the final product and I hope that it's distribution will somehow provide help to those kids in need.

This is turning out to be a rather busy May. 
Between illustrating two children's books, storyboarding three films, acting in two films, and building/producing/directing ROCK GIANT....

here's hoping I don't burn out.

I've made 57 storyboards for ROCK GIANT over the past eight days.  I took two days off to work on storyboards for another film... it's been grueling but I should have an animatic posted online very very soon.
